When we watch films, we are transported elsewhere. My film professor once said we don’t leave the theatre with a physical “product” that we’ll continue using, like a sweater, or a spoon. Instead, we leave the theatre with a sweaty ticket stub in our pocket. We also leave the theatre slightly changed, having been given an experience, our thoughts having been stirred up by an invisible spoon we can’t touch.
